Karmi Leiman

Karmi Leiman is an international trade policy and compliance expert with over 30 years of experience. He helps both large and small firms to develop internal compliance programs to navigate the increasingly complex government-mandated obligations arising from the technology rivalry between the United States and China. Karmi spent over a decade at GlobalFoundries (a U.S. headquartered semiconductor manufacturer) in varying roles, culminating as the VP of Government Affairs and Global Trade. During his time at GF, Karmi was co-Chair of the Semiconductor Industry Association’s Export Committee. Karmi is an expert in the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). He is licensed by Customs and Border Protection as a Customs Broker. Karmi earned an MBA from Georgetown University with a focus in International Business. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
